The Big (Well, not so big) Oh-One.

After nearly 3 years, I decided to write a blog. I don't really expect this to be read by many people (Or really, anyone at all) yet... something tells me inside that I have to do it. As such, it will contain my thoughts on notable events that have occurred in the past few days. Naturally, sometime my posts will be long, sometimes short, sometimes every day, sometimes you might not see one for a week or two. I will however, endeavour to make it interesting, on the off chance that some one may take a sideways look and go 'wow, this guy seems like a pretty cool guy'.

Alright, formalities out of the way, I shall begin with sharing my thoughts on a small little game from 1999. Yes, I am indeed talking Unreal Tournament. So the other night, me and two of my brothers were sat around, thinking of things to do. We sat for a good hour, just discussing different things to do; Continue levelling our worgen for our level 70 arena project (More on that sometime), Play some Smackdown vs. Raw 2009 (At which i am the WORST player, I got beaten as John Cena by my younger brother playing Kane, so im kinda ashamed and said I don't want to play that again, naturally), watch TV (Because Saturday night TV is SO entertaining. Just about as entertaining as watching a game of darts, or football). It was after much deliberation that my older brother said 'Aight, lets play Unreal Tournament, im sure there's a copy lying around somewhere', so promptly we began searching for it, and find it we did. It took only moments to install (Today's PC's are so much quicker than the calculators it used to run on!) and in the time I installed it on all three computers, I noticed a rather distinct flashing on my taskbar. A school friend of mine wanted in on the fun, so i booted up hamachi, and away we went. We spent maybe 3 hours blasting away at each other, and at bots in CTF and Assault, and I must say, those three hours were amongst the most fun I have ever had, and as such I am now looking to get a few more of my friends involved, and maybe even make a Saturday night LAN night or something. My only criticism with the game would be this - the weaponry available is fine and dandy, but I have developed an unhealthy loathing for the Biosludge rifle. I cannot handle it for the life of me, yet always when others use it on me, I am melted into a puddle of green goo in literally seconds. I guess its just more work on my twitch reflexes, and maybe an increase to the game speed, and I should be fine.

Next up on my lists of things to cover in this post would be a rather... peculiar encounter in my local town centre with what me and my brothers thought was a gay-rapist-paedophile-christian. He may not have been, and may have genuinely just wanted to spread the word of god, but the manner in which he presented himself, kinda threw us of guard. So this story begins with use sat near the clock tower, waiting for some people whom we were supposed to be meeting. Now, we just happened to get their a tad too early, and there were several christians spouting their religious nonsense (Please, don't take offence, because no matter what religion you are, im sure we could be good friends) so after finding an ample spot to nestle ourselves while we wait, we decided to listen, for we had nothing better to do, when one of them comes over to have a chat with us and gives us some leaflets. We politely listen, nod, smile and say 'yes' a few times as appropriate, in the hopes he would bugger off, when all of a sudden he comes out with 'your flies are open' to which I promptly reply with a 'yeah, they are kinda... broken' (Which they are, the zip no longer zips, and the zipper just goes up and down awkwardly) and we laugh. It was shortly after this that he pulls out another leaflet, this one, was visibly worn, and clearly had nothing to do with christianity what so ever. It was a football thing, which he passed to my younger brother, and said 'hey, if any of you ever need to talk to me about god, or praying, do not hesitate to ring me on my mobile number here' and he pointed to a small box with his name (David) and his (Maybe, we don't really want to try it for fear of him tracking it and raping us) mobile number. We say that of course we will and that we should really get going. He lets us know that god is with us and we flee the scene, to the refuge of a manga store. It was a really weird experience, and pretty uncomfortable at that. My advice to you is to never let weird religious types anywhere near you without good reason, or you may find yourself in a situation like ours.

The last thing i shall cover, merely because it is the least interesting, and maybe the thing most of you wont connect with, is the attitude with running Cataclysm Heroics in World of Warcraft. Now, I know a lot of you may frown at this, but that is why i placed this part at the end, so you can skip it if you wish. Staying with me? Good. Many of the players over at MMO-Champion are venting their frustration at incompetent players in their groups. Now, I have yet to find any of these so called 'wrath-babies'. Why? I don't know. Maybe im lucky. I decided to roll a mage, being the only class I haven't played properly yet, and I noticed the only heirloom armour piece i was missing, apart from obviously the Guild Level 20 requiring helms, was the cloth chest, a certain 2175 Justice Point costing Tattered Dreadmist Robe. After purchasing an item level 346 belt the night before, my JP balance was down to about 200 or so. That meant a LOT of heroics. Now, in those runs, I came across no ninjas, no one that was unable to talk english, and no one that couldn't dps marked targets correctly. The only time we had a problem was when a three man guild run (A tank and two dps, leaving only me, whom I like to think plays a Fury warrior better than the average pugger, and a priest healer from a different realm to either the guild or me) in Vortex Pinnacle, arguably THE EASIEST THING EVER MADE, right in front of Baradin Hold's Argolath (Argaloth? I don't know). Now, we had killed the second boss, and had proceeded to the groups of Tol'Vir leading to the final boss. When on of the adds, I forget which, dies, it does a close range aoe knockback, which inadvertently threw me from the edge. This, rather frustratingly teleports anyone unfortunate enough to fall from the platform to the entrance, where they have to make the long run back. Without any warning however, I was removed from the group? Why? That I shall never know. I could see no reason myself, i was second on damage dealt, was third on dps, doing an average of 8k (With my terrible gear, that is somewhat an achievement) and I was, apart from the mage tossing an odd counter spell, the only one interrupting spell casts. Other than this however, my Justice Point farming went without a hitch, and I plan to do it again, in order to get the nice shiny heirloom bow of which i forget its name, but it will have its place on my rogue as a stat stick, and my hunter when i can be motivated to level it (Lol hunters. Not saying they are bad, but they aren't my thing).

That pretty much sums up what i wanted to include today, so uhh... Yeah. I hope this was interesting enough to read for you, and hope you will join me next time!
